Darran played offensive tackle for Stanford Football from 1986 to 1990 and received four varsity letters during this time.  After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, he began a career in investment banking at Smith Barney (now part of Citibank) in NYC in 1991.  Darran transitioned to the private equity industry in 1996 and has spent the last 20 years working as a Managing Director at Stone Point Capital. He helps to lead global investments in health insurance and workers compensation services, P&C insurance and insurance run-off.
 
Darran splits his time between Key Largo, FL and Pebble Beach, CA. with his wife, Cindy.  Darran and Cindy have two children (Samantha and Travis).
